Timothy Young is both the author and illustrator of the book Untitled. Seriously! That’s what he chose to call this book and the thought of it being nameless made me all kinds of curious. I won it through a giveaway on Tara Lazar’s website: Writing for Kids (While Raising Them). On May 14th, 2019, she interviewed Timothy on her blog where he shared his creative process. You can read the interview here. I have since received our copy and have added it to out K-5 library collection. I can’t wait to see how my students will respond.
Ignatz and Carlos are the two main characters and they are trying to figure out what in the world is going on?! What in fact will the story even be about? The two get bored and start making suggestions to Timothy by which they might get to battle dragons or monsters, become cowboys, or maybe even go on an undersea adventure. The possibilities are endless really but in the end, it will all be up to Timothy Young to decide how the story will go now won’t it? No ifs, ands, or buts about it!
Thank you again to both Tara Lazar and Timothy Young for the signed copy! I enjoyed it but Untitled left me wondering what’s next for the two because really, this time around, all they got to do was complain about the author. I hope that Ignatz and Carlos will soon get the story they’ve been waiting for!
