Lost and Found (The Boy, #2)Lost and Found by Oliver Jeffers

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

When a boy finds a penguin on his doorstep, he tries everything he can to get him back home. The trouble is, he doesn’t exactly know where home is. When he reads a book and learns that penguins come from the South Pole, he takes matters into his own hands and sets sail. He is every bit determined to save the penguin but in the end, learns about the saving power of friendship.

Oliver Jeffers is an equally creative storyteller and illustrator. Once I’d read his book, The Incredible Book Eating Boy, I knew that I needed to pick up some of his other work. In addition to Lost and Found, I added A Child of Books and Once Upon an Alphabet to my school’s library collection this year (2017) and my students are really enjoying them. Oliver Jeffers is also the Illustrator for both of Drew Daywalt’s wildly popular books, The Day the Crayons Quit and The Day the Crayons Came Home, both of which are constantly checked out from my library. If you are a fan of those books like I am, then I’d highly recommend you get yourself a copy of Lost and Found and pretty much anything else by Oliver Jeffers.
