Milk Goes to School by Terry Border
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
It’s hard to argue with a waffle who thinks Milk is spoiled! You might think so too if you knew that her dad tells her she’s, ‘la creme de la creme,’ and gives her a brand new sparkly backpack that contains enough hair bows that she can wear a new one every two seconds on her first day of school. At first, Milk lets Waffle’s comments roll off her shoulders but when she takes a sudden spill, the class gets the chance to show what being a friend really means.
This is a great story to share at the beginning of the school year to talk about friendship, kindness, and getting along at the elementary school level. It is an absolutely funny, pun-filled tale. Be prepared for a lot of laughter and giggles with this one.
